The University of Miami announced that Alexa Parra, BSN, BSPH, RN, the Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) specialist at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, has been selected for induction into the prestigious Bouchet Graduate Honor Society for 2025. Named after Dr. Edward A. Bouchet, the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in the United States in 1876, the Bouchet Society recognizes outstanding achievements in doctoral education. As an inductee, Alexa will join a distinguished network of scholars who exemplify the Society’s five pillars: scholarship, leadership, character, service, and advocacy.
The induction ceremony will take place at the Annual Yale University Bouchet Conference on Diversity and Graduate Education on April 4-5, 2025, with the theme “Environmental Justice: The Intersection of Climate Change and Social Equity.”
